On February 22, 2025, we took a trip down memory lane at the Retro-Themed Annual Dinner & Dance, held at AP Premier Batam, Indonesia. The annual Dinner and Dance event, with its vibrant retro theme, was a spectacular success, filled with laughter, music, and unforgettable moments.
The evening officially kicked off with high-energy entertainment and a warm welcome from our charismatic MCs, Jia Wen and Krishvind. Their infectious enthusiasm set the tone for an exciting night ahead.
A heartfelt opening speech by the Director, Mr. Kai Boon Giam who set the tone for the evening with his heartfelt words. His speech reminded us of the importance of Data Connect Technologies and individuals’ values when providing our clients with our product and services and the joy of coming together as a company. He also talked about our successes and shared exciting plans for the future. He also hinted about a better location next year.
Long Service Awards
We also took a moment to honor our long-serving employees and highlight their outstanding contributions at Data Connect Technologies.
Kim Soon Lin and Chee Kiat Lee, both of whom have dedicated Ten Years of service, along with Jia Hui Ng, Nur Syahirah Binte Mohamad, Chit Yee Kyaw, Hui Sing Chua, and Siew Hoon Siaw, who have each completed Five Years of service. Chee Kiat and Kim Soon shared some highlights of their 10-year journey with Data Connect Technologies.
Their dedication and hard work over the years have been instrumental in our success, and it was heartwarming to see them being recognized and celebrated. The applause and cheers from their colleagues were a testament to the respect and admiration they have earned.
Best Engineer Award
A special highlight of the evening was the presentation of the DCT Best Engineer Award to Kai Loon Tan.
Kai Loon is a highly accomplished IT professional with expertise in network security, virtualization, and data center technologies. Holding prestigious certifications such as Fortinet Certified Professional – Network Security, Fortinet Network Security Expert, VMware Certified Professional – Network Virtualization, and VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization, he demonstrates deep technical proficiency and industry leadership.
With a proven track record of excellence, Kai Loon has successfully completed 346 projects, tasks, and service requests, showcasing his ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions and drive business success.
Dinner is Served!
A sumptuous meal was enjoyed by all as we toasted to another year of achievements. Lively conversations and laughter filled the banquet hall as colleagues and friends connected over delicious food.
Best Dressed Award & Lucky Draw (3rd Prize)
The retro theme brought out creativity in everyone. Attendees made their best vintage outfits, and the competition for the Best Dressed Award was fierce. Emily won in the female category with her “Emily in Batam” inspired on the movie “Emily in Paris” and Chee Kiat Lee won the male category with his vibrant flowery outfit. They received the coveted AirPods 4 for their exceptional sense of style and fashion. These wireless earbuds will undoubtedly elevate their listening experience and provide unmatched convenience.
This was followed by the first round of our exciting lucky draw –Third Prize.
The third prize lucky draw winners were certainly not disappointed. Five lucky individuals walked away with a Harman Kardon Luna Speaker. This sleek and powerful speaker will surely enhance their home audio experience and provide endless entertainment.
Special Performance
The entertainment for the night took everyone on a musical journey through the ages, with a spectacular performance that had the audience cheering.
One of the night’s most entertaining segments was the karaoke session. Employees took to the stage, belting out their favorite retro hits. The enthusiasm and talent on display were remarkable—truly Data Connect Staffs are talented!
The Best Performance Award was also presented during the event. The best performance was rewarded with an Apple HomePod Mini.
This compact smart speaker will integrate seamlessly into their home, providing excellent sound quality and access to a world of convenient voice-controlled features.
Lucky Draw (2nd Prize)
The excitement continued with another two fortunate lucky draw winners: Jia Wen and Pamela who took home an iPad mini A17 Pro. These lightweight and portable devices will allow them to stay connected and productive on the go, with all the latest features and technology at their fingertips.
The anticipation and joy of the winners added an extra layer of excitement to the event.

The games began, bringing out the competitive spirit in all of us!
The evening was packed with interactive games that had everyone laughing and cheering. From classic party games to innovative new ones, the activities kept the energy high and the camaraderie strong. The winners of the games were awarded exciting prizes, adding to the thrill of the night. A classic game with a retro twist!
The winners of our exciting games were awarded Jisulife Handheld Fan Pro 1. The bingo prize was awarded to Jacky Loh an Apple iPad 9th Gen. This versatile iPad will allow him to stay entertained, connected, and organized, with a wide range of features and functionalities.

And finally, the moment everyone had been eagerly waiting for, the first prize lucky draw winner was announced. Celeste Chua won the ultimate prize – an iPhone 16 BLK 128GB bringing the night to a thrilling conclusion.
