The festive spirit was in full swing on December 21, 2024, as our company gathered for the much-anticipated Dinner and Dance 2024 with the theme “Hawaiian”. The evening was a perfect blend of laughter, gratitude, and celebration, making it a night to remember for everyone involved.
The annual Dinner and Dance was off to a splendid start with a heartfelt message from the Director, Mr. Kai Boon Giam expressing deep gratitude to all employees for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. He highlighted the importance of our company’s six core values and how does the company perform throughout the year and the successful conversion of Data Connect Technologies representative office to a Branch office in the Philippines.
Despite facing some unexpected challenges, our director emphasized how the six values have guided us and will continue to be our foundation for success hoping both Singapore and Philippines staffs will collaborate effectively and to continue to contribute into the company’s success.
After the director’s speech, the hosts of the event welcomed everyone with grace and enthusiasm, setting the tone for an evening filled with joy and celebration. The hosts warmly invited Mariflor Olayvar to the stage for a brief opening speech. Her words set the tone for the evening, highlighting the significance of the event and the achievements of the team.
Following her inspiring speech, she extended a special invitation to Uxville Unabia, recognizing him as the first manager of Data Connect Technologies representative office. His pivotal role in establishing a representative office in the Philippines was celebrated, acknowledging his dedication and contributions. He shared his reflections on the journey of the company, highlighting the incredible growth and achievements over the years. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and hard work of every team member, setting a positive and motivational tone for the night.
A Feast to Remember
No celebration is complete without delicious food, and the Dinner and Dance 2024 did not disappoint. The menu featured a variety of dishes that catered to all tastes.
The afritada was a hit, with its tender chicken pieces swimming in a rich, flavorful tomato sauce, perfectly complemented by soft potatoes and carrots. The fried chicken was everything you could hope for crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right.
But the real star was the lechon. Its crispy, crackling skin, and marinated meat had everyone coming back for seconds. And let’s not forget the soup, a warm, comforting bowl that brought everything together, rich with flavors and perfect for sipping between bites. Each dish added to the festive vibe.
Fun and Games Galore
The night was filled with hilarious games that had everyone in stitches. From the classic “Shake-it-off” to the more unconventional “Hala-Bira,” the laughter was non-stop. The games were a fantastic way to break the ice and get everyone in a festive mood.
Show-Stopping Performances and Best Dressed Awards
One of the highlights of the evening was the series of team performances. The Admin, Helpdesk, NOC, SOC, Sales, and Marketing teams each took to the stage, showcasing their talents in a friendly competition. The performances were predominantly a karaoke song, with each team putting their own spin on popular songs. The Helpdesk team’s rendition of “Your Song and Inuman by Parokya ni Carlo” was a crowd favorite, while the SOC team’s energetic TikTok dance routine had everyone cheering.
The night also featured a Best Dressed competition, adding an extra layer of excitement. The award for Best Dressed Male went to Ronald from the Helpdesk IT department who perfectly captured the Hawaiian festive spirit. The Best Dressed Female award was won by Mae an IT Officer, who stunned everyone with her elegant, floral dress.
Exciting Gift Exchange, Raffles and Long Service Award
Adding to the festive cheer was the much-anticipated gift exchange. Everyone brought a wrapped gift, and the excitement was obvious as the “monito and monita” were revealed and gifts were exchanged. The raffle draw was another highlight of the evening. Congratulations to all the lucky winners who took home fantastic prizes! For those who didn’t win this time, don’t worry—there’s always next year. The joy of giving and receiving brought smiles to everyone’s faces, making the evening even more special.
Celebrating Our Long Service Award Recipients
One of the highlights of the evening was honoring our Long Service Award recipients. We are thrilled to recognize the following employees who have reached the milestone of five years with Data Connect Technologies: Mariflor Olayvar, Office Manager since 2019 and Allan Frandy Dela Cruz, SOC Senior Team Lead.
A testament that all the hard work and dedication each of us brings to our company were acknowledged. Let’s keep growing together, as we strive to create an environment where we can all thrive both personally and professionally.
Additionally, Mariflor Olayvar has been the driving force behind our representative office in the Philippines, skillfully leading the team through the transition from Data Connect Technologies’ representative office to a fully operational branch office in her role as Office Manager. Her dedication, leadership, and unwavering support have been crucial to our operation, growth and success.
