On July 7th at Kebun Baru-SINGAPORE, marked a pivotal event centered on preparing for the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The gathering brought together enthusiasts and learners eager to explore how will AI shape the future-proof of careers.
Leading the charge were the dedicated volunteers of Good Robot, a passionate group of volunteers dedicated to demystifying AI and its potential impacts on various industries. Their insightful talks offered attendees an understanding of AI’s applications and how individuals can harness its capabilities to stay relevant in a fast-paced world.
Partnering with Good Robot in this educational endeavor was AI Singapore, an institution and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products. Together, they will launch outreach programs designed to bridge the gap between technology and everyday life.
Mr. Tan Wai Chong, who is Chief Data Officer at Data Connect Technologies, emphasized the importance of inclusivity in AI. “Bring AI to the masses,” he urged, challenging the notion that AI is solely for the technically inclined. “A lot of people think AI is something very technical and they’re afraid of it. We hope to change that mindset,” he added.
The initiative targets primary school pupils and their parents, aiming to introduce them to the basics of AI in a user-friendly manner. For tech-savvy participants, specialized workshops on machine learning and programming in Python (a computer programming language often used to build websites and software, automate tasks, and conduct data analysis.) will be offered, all free of charge to the public.
Beyond education, Good Robot’s vision extends to enhancing community services. Plans are underway to develop a chatbot capable of assisting residents with inquiries and facilitating bookings for local facilities. This practical application of AI aims to streamline community interactions and improve accessibility to essential services.
By embracing AI education and its practical applications, communities can not only adapt but thrive in a future where technology plays an increasingly integral role.
